Sr. Manager Internal Audit - Exact - Delft


Want to be responsible for Exact’s Internal Audit function? As Sr. Manager Internal Audit (CAE) you are in the driver’s seat to give actionable insight, advice and assurance to senior management and Exact’s Audit Committee on Exact’s risk management, control, and governance processes.


Main purpose of the role

As Sr. Manager Internal Audit you are the internal audit function of Exact. In this role you initiate and set the internal audit approach of Exact and are responsible for defining and realizing the multi-year internal audit plan. To ensure professional standards are met you work together with an external quality manager and can hire external expertise when required for specific audits. Within Exact you will also work closely together with 2nd line functions like Governance, Risk & Control, Exact’s Compliance Officer and Exact’s Data Protection Officer. Asking for help if necessary and offering help if possible is part of their DNA. Exact has few predefined paths, which gives you plenty of room to choose your own. Organizational independence of the internal audit function is ensured by its internal audit charter. As Sr. Manager Internal Audit you will report functionally to the chairman of the audit committee of Exact and administratively to the CFO.

Main (areas) of responsibility;

  • Drive the internal audit risk assessment and multi-year audit plan processes;
  • Are a member of several of Exact’s key governance committees, including Exact’s Compliance Committee;
  • Have an excellent network within Exact, the audit committee and work together with Exact’s external financial auditor;
  • Are a trusted advisor of the CFO and BoMD on Exact’s governance, risk management and internal control processes;
  • Maintains relations with and contributes to the internal audit professional bodies and peers.

Required qualifications/level of education

For the position of Sr. Manager Internal Audit, it’s helpful if you demonstrate integrity, competence and due professional care. And preferably you also are objective, insightful and can communicate effectively. What’s more, you bring:

  • A Master’s degree in relevant field or similar knowledge obtained based on work experience;
  • A Professional qualification in auditing (e.g. RA, RE, CIA, CISA);
  • At least 8 years of experience in auditing, of which at least five years in internal auditing or similar experience;
  • Experience with audits on information security, data privacy and financial reporting and at least affinity with strategic and compliance risk audits;
  • Fluent knowledge of the English language, both oral as in writing.
