Introduction to: Stefan Rensen RA, Manager of Internal Audit at Eno

Jan. 29, 2016
This time we meet Stefan Rensen. Stefan has been ultimately responsible for Eno's Internal Audit department since March 1, 2016. Eno is a health insurer with the brands Salland Zorgverzekeringen, HollandZorg and Salland ZorgDirect. Eno's audit department consists of three people.

Helping organizations move forward by adding value

I characterize myself as having integrity. With my critical eye, listening ear, analytical and communication skills, I try to help organizations move forward.

Before this, I worked for 10 years at EY accountants. After my theoretical education, during the years at EY I developed a great professional background in the field of auditing. In addition, at EY I learned to have a good dialogue with clients. Besides showing a professional and critical attitude, I always put myself in the client's shoes and developed a helicopter view, which allowed me to provide added value to them.

In the external audit practice, you work intensively with and within various teams. As a result, I also learned to manage and supervise colleagues.

More depth

I wanted to stay active in audit, but I was also looking for something more in-depth within an organization. In addition, I wanted to work in the (healthcare) insurance sector. The position of Manager Internal Audit at Eno is a perfect fit. As the person with final responsibility for Internal Audit at Eno, you also have an 'open seat' in the MT. That was the icing on the cake for me. I am still relatively young and I think I can still learn a lot from the other MT members who have more knowledge and experience.

Plenty of challenges and opportunities

My expectation is that regulations and levels of oversight will continue to grow, and the need for organizations to be and remain (more) in control will grow with it. In my opinion, Internal Audit can help the organization excellently in this by continuously assessing risks and the degree of control. For the future, I expect the importance of IT audit to increase further.

Enjoying going to Eno

Every day I enjoy driving to Eno. Previously, I was in various locations during a week, so I was curious to see how I would like going to the same location every day. So far, I like it very much. I learn every day at Eno and I notice that I get room to develop myself and the department/organization.

An exciting journey to a new job

About the W&S process that led to my new job I am very complimentary. It started with a good content intake. I felt that the right questions were asked and I also received good answers to my questions. This gave me a good picture of Eno and the needs there at the front end. I experienced the subsequent period of interviews at Eno as exciting, but I was kept well informed of all developments. Fortunately, positive feedback came quickly. The 'aftercare' was also well organized, with a professional evaluation and a cake on the first working day. It is clear to me that AuditPeople wants the best match for its client, but also for the candidate.
